Muhammara Paprika Walnuss Paste

Muhammara

For 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 60 g walnuts
  • 30 g breadcrumbs
  • 60 g roasted red peppers
  • 1 tbsp. Nar Ekşisi (pomegranate syrup)
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. chili flakes
  • Salt, sugar

Instructions

  1. First, toast the walnuts in a pan without oil over low heat for 3 - 4 minutes. Flip them occasionally so that they don't burn.
  2. Afterwards, finely chop the walnuts together with the breadcrumbs and 1 teaspoon each of salt and sugar in a stand mixer.
  3. Then add all the other ingredients and puree until smooth.
  4. Serve with olive oil, chopped walnuts and parsley.
