Cucumber Salad

Ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
- Dill
- Salt, pepper, sugar
Instructions
- Finely slice the cucumber into a bowl.
- Add 2 tsp salt and rub it into the cucumber slices. Place a second bowl or a plate on top of the salted cucumber and weigh it down to press out the water. Let stand for 60 minutes.
- Squeeze the cucumber slices firmly with your hands and drain off all released liquid.
- Whisk together 50 ml water, white wine vinegar, 2 tsp sugar and a pinch of pepper until the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour the dressing over the cucumber, add some fresh dill and let marinate for 30 minutes.
About this recipe
This cucumber salad is a traditional side dish in Swedish cuisine. Squeezing the finely sliced cucumber makes this salad really crunchy.
